City Soundscapes Walks

Regular walks with registration.

What do Munich's green spaces sound like and how does this relate to our well-being?

Part of the CitySoundscapes project investigates this question with so-called listening walks. Small groups of test persons (5-12 people) walk along defined paths, consciously perceiving the acoustic environment and sharing their impressions via an Online. On some randomly selected dates, the participants' cortisol levels are also measured using a saliva sample in order to record physical recovery effects.

The listening walks will take place between May 2025 and April 2026 in the three districts of Harlaching, Au and Neuperlach. All data collected will be anonymous and used exclusively for research purposes.

The walks are approximately 1.5 km long and last around 90 minutes.
People aged 18 and over with normal hearing (hearing aids are possible) who are fit enough for the walk can take part.
