AHA pub knowledge

"How important is the forest?" - Willi Weitzel and AHA have invited various experts to the Hofbräukeller to answer this question in as varied a way as possible, bringing with them interesting facts about the current state of research and entertaining facts for you. Understanding the forest with all your senses and experiencing exciting things is the program.

It's all about the fascination of the forest ecosystem, the importance of biodiversity and the influence of humans.
  • What would it look like if we humans did not intervene in nature?
  • For example, what do the animals in the forest tell us about its condition?
  • Which trees are more resistant than others?
  • What can you build with wood, or even with living trees?

There is a lot to talk about and, of course, to marvel at. Participation is definitely encouraged, because our guests play an important role in AHA Wirtshaus-Wissen. You are encouraged to ask questions, describe experiences, join in, touch, guess and put your own knowledge to the test in small quiz rounds.

And these will be Willi's guests:

Dr. Thassilo Franke, Bavarian State Natural History Collections
He travels back in time with us and describes what the landscape that is Germany today looked like before the great ice age....

Prof. Dr. Michaela Hau, Max Planck Institute for Biological Intelligence
We prick up our ears with her and listen to the songs of tits in the forest.....

Prof. Dr. Raoul Klingner, Fraunhofer WKI in Braunschweig
He raves about wood as a building material and its fascinating properties. Wood - a renewable raw material....

Prof. Dr. Ferdinand Ludwig, Technical University of Munich
He is an architect and builds with trees. His vision: a city as a forest....

If you wish, you can round off the day with dinner - after so much knowledge, dinner in the Hofbräukeller tastes all the better. The experts will be on site after the program from around 6 p.m. until the end and look forward to talking to guests of all ages.

AHA, Willi and his guests from the world of science are looking forward to an exciting exchange with you.
