Democracy under stress. How can we cope with upheaval?

In the Max Weber Lectures, held four times a year, the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities the Munich Adult Education Center aim to rationally understand the current upheavals based on Max Weber's analysis of modern societies. Experts from various disciplines provide impetus for a new understanding of our complex present.

Together with sociologist Steffen Mau (HU Berlin), we address the question of the challenges facing democracy. What happens to democracy when the pressure for change increases and old certainties crumble?
