Munich Quantum Valley
MQV Girls' Day 2026: Discover the world of quantum materials
Munich Quantum Valley is participating in Girls' Day again this year and, together with the Center for Nanotechnology and Nanomaterials at the Walter Schottky Institute, is giving a group of girls the opportunity to learn about careers in the natural sciences. This year, they will learn how the thinnest materials in the world are manufactured and what role quantum physics plays in the development of new materials.

At this year's Girls' Day, organized by Munich Quantum Valley in collaboration with the Center for Nanotechnology and Nanomaterials (ZNN) at the Walter Schottky Institute, students can look forward to an exciting insight into the world of quantum materials.
How can materials that are only a few atoms thick be produced using simple adhesive tape? What role does quantum physics play in understanding the exciting properties of these materials? What does a typical day look like for researchers at the ZNN? Schoolgirls can find out all this and more on Girls' Day.
Further information and registration via the Girls' Day website.
Further offers in the MQV network
As in previous years, numerous members and partners in the MQV network are offering exciting programs for Girls' Day this year.
- The Munich Center for Quantum Science and Technology takes girls on an exciting journey into the world of quantum physics. Further information is available here.
- At the Fraunhofer Institute for Electronic Microsystems and Solid State Technologies, girls are immersed in the world of microelectronics. Further information is available here.
