How Social Media Fragments Society and Threatens Democracy

The Lecture the algorithm-driven impact of social media on democracy and society in Germany. It also discusses strategies aimed at countering Online.

Badria Fetouni is a research associate at the Rhineland-Palatinate State Criminal Police Office, where she works in the areas of training and continuing education as well as data analysis. Among other things, she focuses directly on the impact of the digital sphere on social change, its fragmentation, and the resulting consequences regarding extremism and crime. She focuses on the radicalization processes among young people, which are often driven and facilitated by social media.
