Public Technology Lab: Curiosity on the Move

Join us to try on our PublicTechnologyLab and get a glimpse of what society centered research could look like.

Everyday citizens affected by new, transformational technologies rarely have a real say in how they’re developed and governed. This is, at its core, a design problem. Where and how researchers show up shapes who gets curious, and feels welcome to take part – or not.

The Public Technology Lab is built to address that: With a converted shipping container, it will go on the road, bringing research directly to the people.

Throughout the summer semester 2026, three student teams collaborated closely with researchers and members of the public to design what this might look like in our studio. Their designs are now being built as 1:1 spatial experience prototypes – intentional and inspiring provocations.

Don’t miss the chance to see them while they are up!
