Molassic Park – An Expedition to Bavaria’s Great Apes, Ancient Elephants, and Subtropical Forests
Exhibition the Museum of Man and Nature

Four-meter-tall tusked elephants, saber-toothed cats, cinnamon trees, and swamp cypresses: What sounds like a scene from a Hollywood movie was our home a little over 10 million years ago—during the Upper Freshwater Molasse period.
The Exhibition extraordinary fossils from Bavaria, many of them originals, and brings a long-lost world back to life through large-scale landscape reconstructions. A special highlight is “Udo,” an 11.6-million-year-old species of great ape from the Allgäu region.
You can find all the information about this Exhibition, including opening hours and admission prices, on the museum’s website.
