Science Snack: Cooking Night on Gut Health

Colorectal Cancer Prevention for Young People
Learn more about gut health and colorectal cancer prevention while cooking and fermenting together.

Cook and ferment together—and learn more about gut health and colorectal cancer prevention along the way: That’s what the free cooking evenings hosted by “Science Snack” have to offer. “Science Snack” is a colorectal cancer prevention project for young people, organized by TUM students in collaboration with a young chef.

Their goal: To educate people aged 20 to 45 in an accessible, science-based, and peer-to-peer manner about risk factors, the role of the microbiome, nutrition, fiber, exercise, as well as the symptoms and prevention of early-onset colorectal carcinoma (EOCRC). Through cooking and eating together, conversations about gut health arise, myths are debunked, and current research is explained in an accessible way.
