Breath of Stone and Bamboo

Art exhibition featuring paintings by Dong-Hee KIM, combined with minerals and crystals from the Munich State Mineralogical Collection

Dong-Hee KIM’s work begins with a small dot.

In her works, the dot—as the most fundamental unit of existence—becomes a vessel for time, movement, and breath. By placing countless dots, she creates bamboo landscapes that allow us to experience not so much the visible as the invisible: the wind, the light, and the subtle trembling of the leaves.

In this Exhibition , her vibrant visual worlds Exhibition into a dynamic dialogue with selected minerals and crystals. While Dong-Hee KIM perceives minerals as “condensed, silent bodies of time,” the dots capture the fleeting breath of the moment.

This creates a balance between stillness and movement, between the material and the immaterial—a poetic encounter between nature, time, and perception.

“In the dark, we see the light more clearly. And this light fills the room like a sound.”
