Birds & Breakfast at the Munich Botanical Garden by Dawn Chorus
Are you ready to get up early and start the day with a special nature experience?

While the city is still asleep, a unique soundscape unfolds: the early morning hours offer the perfect conditions for fully appreciating the diversity of bird songs. The first rays of sunlight, crisp air, and the birds’ harmonious chorus create this special atmosphere.
As part of Dawn Chorus, participants are granted access to the garden—which is otherwise closed—where they can enjoy the morning birdsong in a peaceful atmosphere.
Afterward, you can enjoy a relaxed breakfast at the BIOTOPIA Lab, where you can reflect on the morning’s experiences in an inspiring setting.
The Dawn Chorus project is a citizen science and art initiative in which people around the world record and share bird songs. At this event, too, recordings of the morning chorus will be made using the Dawn Chorus app. The collected data contributes to biodiversity research and is also used for artistic purposes. With the help of AI-powered analysis, the recorded songs can be assigned to specific species, which also leads to a better understanding of local biodiversity.
The event is being held in cooperation with NAJU Bavaria. In case of bad weather, the event will be canceled.
