For example, to make banknotes completely counterfeit-proof?

On Thursday, July 23, we’ll delve into this and many other optical mysteries of nature. For this very special collaborative event, the BIOTOPIA Lab will welcome distinguished guests from Nuremberg: Together with the Bionicum —both part of the Bavarian State Collections of Natural History (SNSB)—we invite you to a fascinating evening full of science, wonder, and hands-on activities.

Here's what you can expect:

An Engaging Keynote Presentation: Prof. Dr. Nicolas Vogel from Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU) offers a vivid and captivating introduction to the world of “structural colors” and the tiniest surface structures.

Interactive Research Lab: After the Lecture , the BIOTOPIA Lab itself Lecture a place for experimentation! You can get hands-on, observe the intricate patterns on butterfly wings under a microscope, or create iridescent, long-lasting soap bubbles.
