The fascination of pelargoniums. Shapes. Colors. Scents.

Plant exhibition in the geranium house of Nymphenburg Palace Park
More than 200 different types and varieties of pelargoniums will be on display from May 8 to 17 in the historic geranium house in Nymphenburg Palace Park. In the plant exhibition, large-flowered cultivated pelargoniums stand out in stark contrast to the delicate wild varieties, while miniature pelargoniums captivate visitors alongside ornamental shrubs with leaves that smell of lemon or nutmeg. This year, the Exhibition Bavarian Palace Administration will once again be expanded to include special and succulent pelargoniums from the collection of the Munich-Nymphenburg Botanical Garden, making it a very special highlight.
Impressive variety
Pelargoniums (Pelargonium) are a genus of plants within theGeraniaceae family. Their 220 to 280 species are mainly found in southern Africa. Most people know certain pelargonium species and hybrid varieties by their common name "geraniums" – but the comparison is misleading: the variety of different growth forms, scents, shapes, patterns, and sizes of their leaves is impressive.
