Genies in a Bottle – Microorganisms in Action

Workshop the Pentecost break for children ages 8–12.

Together, we’re building a bottle ecosystem for microbes. Come outside with us and join the experiment: We’ll use mud, crush eggs, and chop up chalk and leaves. Everything is stirred, layered, and labeled—each child designs their own bottle to take home and playfully discovers all the life in the soil. Then it’s time to observe, marvel, and keep discovering new things, because the column changes over time!
