International Museum Day 2026
Discover, Get Involved, and Join In!

On Sunday, May 17, we’re celebrating International Museum Day and warmly invite you to stop by the BIOTOPIA Lab and the Museum of Man and Nature. Under the theme “Inclusion for All,” we’ve put together a diverse program!
Here's what you can expect at the BIOTOPIA Lab
Here at the Lab, we’re dedicating this day especially to our tiniest garden inhabitants. In our Workshop , you Workshop design your own insect hotels and learn firsthand why wild bees and other beneficial insects are so important for our environment. You’ll have the chance to build your own custom nesting stations and then take them home to help protect nature right on your own balcony or in your garden. We’ll show you which materials work best and what’s important to ensure that your new residents really feel at home.
Special events inside and outside the Museum of Man and Nature
Things are also buzzing at the Museum of Man and Nature. From 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM, a big For families craft workshop will take place right in the special exhibition “It’s All About Circles – Cycles Instead of Waste.” Here, you can explore how we can avoid waste and think in terms of cycles instead. If you’d like to learn more about sustainable ideas, be sure to stop by the museum entrance: There, our partners from the special exhibition await you with exciting activities and information booths under the open sky.
Digital tours of the Botanical Garden
For anyone looking to explore the great outdoors, the Botanical Garden offers the perfect setting. You can take a leisurely stroll there or try your hand at our digital climate game. Using the Actionbound app on your smartphone, you’ll become climate researchers and explore the importance of trees for our environment. You can find the link to the game right here.
