Exhibition the Architecture Museum
Visit the Architecture Exhibition on 19th-century colonial trade routes.
The goal of Exhibition TUM Architecture Museum is to highlight the origins of tea—a delicacy consumed daily in Europe—as a colonial commodity. To this end, the exhibition traces the spaces and architectural structures where tea was grown and processed on the plantations of West Java, as well as the ways in which it was transported and stored between Batavia and Hamburg, and sold and consumed in Germany, including Munich.
Hours: 10 a.m.–5 p.m.
Opening reception on July 22, 2026, 6–8 p.m.
