“Visualizations of the Divine.” A commemorative lecture by Prof. Dr. Katrin Kogman-Appel (University of Münster)
Jewish art does not feature anthropomorphic depictions of God—that is, depictions of God in human form. This Lecture how various discourses have influenced the representation of the divine in Jewish visual art. Using selected examples, the concepts of visualizing God will be presented and analyzed within their respective historical and theological contexts.
