Plants and Carbon: A Double Feature at the “Earth Futures Lunchtime Colloquium” withProf. Lina Mercado, Ph.D., and Prof. Stephen Sitch, Ph.D.

Lina Mercado is a professor of geography at the University of Exeter. As a plant ecophysiologist and vegetation-biogeochemical modeler, she uses observational data and computer models to investigate how plants influence the climate and vice versa.

Stephen Sitch is a professor of physical geography at the University of Exeter and is currently a visiting fellow at CAS. In his talk, he shares insights from the Global Carbon Budget assessment and the use of Earth observation to refine regional carbon budgets.
